This car features a durable plastic construction with an interior bouillon load, die-cast metal sprung trucks, metal wheels and axles, and die-cast metal operating knuckle couplers. This car is named for the Dahlonega Mint, which was established during an 1830s gold rush in northern Georgia. The remnants of the mint form part of the main office building for North Georgia College and State University.
