Lionel 6-28255 Union Pacific SD40T-2 Diesel Locomotive #4551 EX/Box
New for 2007, most Standard O diesel locomotives* feature a dual-axle drive system for even better performance and increased pulling power. This innovation is the next step in the redesign of the diesel locomotive gear system. Like its single-axle predecessor, this system has all the latest improvements, including Smooth operation at start-up and slow speeds. With back-drivable gears, the electronics control the speed of the locomotive. The locomotive pulls without hesitation, even at a crawl. Improved lash-up performance. Smooth operation for the individual units means smoother operation for multiple units when they are each equipped with the new drive system. Removable truck side frames. The truck sides are removed with a few screws, allowing you to easily replace a worn traction tire. Plus, two driven axles increase pulling power as compared to the original drive system.
