Here is a Lionel 3830 Vintage O Flatcar with Operating U.S. Navy Submarine from 1960-63. Yes, the submarine actually will operate underwater! It is rubber band powered. You wind up the nose cone to energize it. This car features plastic trucks, operating knuckle couplers, metal wheels and axles.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good. This car shows scratches and paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. There is also some rust on the wheels, axels, couplers and the propeller of the submarine. One of the submarine's rudder pieces is missing. The original periscope has been replaced with a makeshift one by the previous owner. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning.
