The tender features plastic construction, die-cast metal trucks, an operating die-cast metal knuckle coupler, metal wheels and axles. The passenger cars feature tinplate construction, die-cast metal trucks, operating metal knuckle couplers, interior illumination, metal wheels and axles.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-5: Good based on visual appearance. Each item in this set displays scratches and paint imperfections across the body and underframe. Deeper scratches on the shells have resulted in paint loss, as well as spots of rust on the unpainted metal areas. Surface rust is also present on the locomotive's wheels and drive rods. The wheels and pickups show signs of average use. The overall appearance of each item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. These items did not function and are being sold as-is.
