This is a Broadway Limited 638 HO Scale Pennsylvania Railroad Paragon™ Series Diesel EMD NW2 Phase V Switcher Powered with Quantum™ Sound #9247. Introduced in February of 1939, the NW2 offered railroads a powerful and economical switch engine. With a 1000 horsepower prime mover, it could handle almost any yard work, while the unique cab and body design offered excellent visibility in All directions. Although production was suspended during World War II, New and improved post-war versions were built through 1950, that paved the way for the successful SW series which followed. These models are based on late production NW2s with the smAller radiator and rounded cab windows that set them apart from SW7s. Each is fitted with a Quantum system and dual speakers to reproduce a full range of EMD Sounds. A powerful five-pole can motor, directional headlights, full cab interior, authentic paint and more are All included. Engines will handle 18 radius curves.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. This locomotive has been tested and didn't run at all; therefore it is being sold as-is. There are light scratches along the body. The wheels show average signs of wear. This item has been out on display previously and its overall appearance could be significantly improved with a thorough dusting or a light wipe down. The instruction manual is not included.
