Bachmann 65603 HO Rock Island GP7 Diesel Locomotive #1227 EX/Box

This is Bachmann 65603 HO ROCK ISLAND GP7 #1225. EMD GP7 with sound and DCC, Rock Island #1227 (red, black, white). Introduced in 1949, the Electro-Motive 1500hp GP-7 combined the machinery of the F7 with a hood-type carbody that offered high visibility and easy engine access. The GP-7 was used in pulling every conceivable type of train and was sometimes substituted for part of a set of cab units. Originally meant to be a switching locomotive to replace the ALCO S1, though much larger and more powerful, it's modern design made it appealing as a standard revenue freight diesel. GP-7's can be found in service today though most Class 1 roads ceased using these locomotives in the early 80s.

Its key features aree:

All-wheel drive

E-Z Mate® Mark II couplers
