American Flyer 21085 Vintage S C&NW 4-6-2 Steam Locomotive & Tender EX

This is an American Flyer 21085 Chicago and North Western 4-6-2 Steam Locomotive and Tender. Features include a motor, reverse unit, an operating headlight, operating smoke unit, metal side rods and metal wheels. Features for the tender include die-cast trucks, rear knuckle coupler, and metal wheels.

Introduced in its prototype form in the late 19th century, the 4-6-2 would take the world by storm at the turn of the 20th century, being seen as one of the biggest innovation in the history of locomotives -- the 4-6-2 would quickly finds its place in rail-yards across the world. Heralded for its ability to haul passengers, the 4-6-2 was a versatile model hauling freight and coal as well, with tank variants being introduced later during the 20th century. Traveling at speeds upwards of 100mph the 4-6-2 was featured on rail-ways ranging from Argentina to Egypt, and all the way to the far East in China!
